The CDA itself runs as a co-operative. Its permanent staff of 5 are the directors. All advisers are members of the Institute of Business Advisers.

We are an independent Enterprise Agency, which has helped local people to set up co-operatives and other forms of democratic business for 18 years.

We work to encourage all forms of community economic development; and we aim to provide a realistic and sustainable approach to developing the local economy.

There are over 80 co-operatives and credit unions associated with the CDA in Leicester and the County. Members of local co-ops and other supporters are invited to join the Co-operative Development Association whose elected General Council advises the CDA on its work. New members are welcomed at any time.
